Featuring Old Power Round-up and Wheat Run
The rumors are true – next year will be a four-day show! Our 55th annual Threshermen & Collectors Show will feature the Old Power Round-up and Wheat Run on August 6-9, 2026. Directors Brady Bonin and Grant Stein had the idea to do a unique feature event like this and have been working on it for several years. What is unique about this idea is that all makes will be a part of the feature rather than the typical focus of just one make of machinery. It will highlight the big power used on the farm prior to the 1930s. Visitors can expect to see big and small steam engines, huge prairie tractors, and much more. In the field you can expect to see around 20 combines running to give a visual of what a custom harvest crew might look like. In our threshing area, we will also demonstrate what that might have looked like pre-1930. You can expect to see around 7 separators threshing wheat to bring the wheat run to full circle. As the combines harvest, you can also expect to see the rakes, balers, and plows following up. This will truly be a show you won’t want to miss!
Flower power and coloring contest
We are once again having a Flower Power contest at Threshermen’s! Drop off your containers of flowers on the south side of the farmhouse either Tuesday afternoon, August 4th, until 5 or Wednesday morning, August 6th, between 9-12. Cut-off for registering is Wednesday at 12 p.m. Judging will take place Wednesday afternoon and winners will be announced on Thursday during the show.
There will be 2 categories: buckets and other containers. Buckets do not need to be 5-gallon buckets. Age divisions are 8 and under, ages 9-12, ages 13-18, and 18+. If you have any questions, please call or text Denise Huskamp at 712-730-0857. Let’s make the grounds look good!
We will also be having a Flower Power Coloring contest! Coloring sheets will be available beginning August 1st and can be picked up from local businesses or sent to you by request. Coloring sheets can also be found on Thursday and Friday of the show at the kids play area southwest of Grandpa’s Barn. Coloring sheets need to be turned into the Broom Factory on Friday, August 7th by 4:30 p.m. The winners will be announced Saturday morning.
2026 Raffle Tractor
This year’s raffle tractor is a 1941 Farmall H. Raffle tickets can be purchased at the show. Tickets are 1 for $5 or 5 for $20. If you are unable to attend the show and would like to purchase some tickets, please call or text our show office at 712-843-2076.
Bill Riley Talent Show
Our Bill Riley Talent Search competition event will be on Saturday, August 8th at 6 PM in the Entertainment Shelter at Albert City Threshermens. There are two divisions: Sprouts is age 2-12 and Seniors is age 13-21.
1st, 2nd, and 3rd place finishers in both age divisions will receive a cash prize, trophy, and a ribbon. The 1st place acts in both divisions will compete at the 2026 Bill Riley Talent Search competition at the Iowa State Fair in the same age group in which they qualified for at the Threshermens show. If the act has multiple individuals, the oldest individual in the act will dictate in which division the act will compete.
The act that qualifies for the 2026 competition at the Iowa State Fair must have the same performers as those who performed at Threshermens. The act may change their performance from the local competition to the state competition but CANNOT change the CLASS of their competition. (Ex: A vocal soloist may sing a different song at the State Fair than they sang at Threshermens but CANNOT perform a Vocal Solo at Threshermens and then perform a Gymnastics routine at the State Fair.)
Please call Ron Hott at 712-299-4402.
Event sponsored by Community State Bank.
